Frequently Asked Questions

When is the event?

VBA is July 9-13 at 6-9pm every night.

What is the theme this year?

The theme is "Seekers: Discovering the Greatest Treasure". We'll be teaching kids the value of knowing God's word and the power it has to change their lives. They'll learn how to "Seek" for treasure in the Bible.

What are the ages?

VBA is for children 4 and up.

How do we register?

You can register early online here. Or you can register at the event. We recommend early registration to cut down on wait time.

Do we have to go to Faith Living Church to attend?

Not at all. We welcome any child to come enjoy Vacation Bible Adventure.

Does it cost anything?

No. VBA is a FREE kids event. This event is supported by the giving and volunteering of our church community. It is an honor and a joy to serve families with a positive hope filled event like VBA.

Can I stay with my child?

No. Parents drop off their children at registration and pick them up at the end of the event. Parents are welcome to stay in our cafe' where they can enjoy refreshments and watch the indoor session on TV.

What will my child be taught at VBA?

We teach principles from the Bible that will inspire and encourage a child's faith. They'll learn about the love of God and that He created them for a purpose. They'll learn about Jesus and what it means to follow Him. They'll be taught a memory verse each night that will help build their faith and strengthen their character.

Will my 5 year old be with 12 year olds?

No. We group the children by age and have two sessions. One for older kids and one for younger kids.

Will my child be in the church the whole time?

No, we have activities inside and outside the church. The indoor activity is in the sanctuary but the outdoor activity is held under the tent in the front yard, the tent in the back lot or in the park next to the church. The children get to enjoy each activity every night during VBA.

What is the indoor session like?

During the indoor session children will have a time of singing. Then they will learn the memory verse of the day and Pastor Ron will do a chapel session to help the children understand the verse. After that our drama team puts on a production which is different every night. The show includes costumed characters, video clips, sound effects and lessons that will further help reinforce the message of God's love.

What is the outdoor session like?

To go along with our treasure hunt theme this year the children will be mining for jewels, coins and other surprises under the front tent. Under the tent in the back lot the children have a small group time after playing a game or watching an object lesson. This is a time to get to know the other kids and their monitor and a great time to ask questions! At the park the kids will enjoy activities like kickball, dodge ball or a pony ride.

Will my children be safe at VBA?

Yes! Safety is a primary concern for us. We staff a large volunteer team just for that very purpose. The safety team watches every corner of our property as well as the park to ensure a safe environment for everyone. We hire a police officer for the entire event who helps with traffic at the cross walk. We have well trained first aid personnel on hand ready to help if needed. We use a coded wrist band system ensuring that only you can pick up your child at the end of the night.

Where should I park?

Feel free to park in the commuter lot across the street or at Napa Auto. On street parking is fine except on Grove St where the buses will be parked.

What if we can't make it every night?

No problem. Whether it's one or five nights your child will enjoy the event. Every night is different but they won't feel lost if they miss a night. Of course we encourage you to attend all 5 nights but if you miss one you can enjoy it streaming live on our website here.
